Soundtrack for the week and a Moment of Thanks
Hello friends, I hope you’re all doing great. I’m down with a horrible cold today so it’s a lot of tissues, hot tea and frustration for me. But by His stripes, I am healed.
Today’s soundtrack features Travis Greene, and the first song we’re playing is Made a Way. God makes a way even in when there seems to be none. He literally builds a highway so you can cruise through despite the challenges. It’s a lovely lovely song that resonates with me, so please press play.
Now that you have the song playing, I want to say thank you for your precious time and support. Some of you send me kind messages, encourage me when you see me and share the blog with your friends. I’m very grateful to God for each and every one of you.
On that note, did you know that I have a Facebook page now? And a twitter account? And an instagram account? Also, I need a social media consultant (please volunteer yourselves :P) to make my online presence great because I honestly don’t know my way around the world wide web.
Most importantly, I’m very grateful for God’s faithfulness. When I fail to blog for months or when my posts are sporadic, the Lord keeps you all sticking around and engaging with me whenever I post. I really do appreciate everything, and I promise to take my blog more seriously :D
Oh, if it seems a little random why I’m doing this vote of thanks today, it’s because we made it past 5,000 views. It’s a big deal for me because I didn’t even have a twitter, or an Instagram account when I started blogging about a year ago. I just posted to my personal Facebook account and asked my friends to share with their friends and Jesus did the rest :D
I started blogging because despite the hell that some parts of 2015 were, I promised the Lord that I would sing of His faithfulness. This has worked for me because everytime I face a challenge that seems insurmountable, the Lord gives me one more thing to sing about.
Truly, He is a faithful and benevolent father. Who am I that He is mindful of me? Please, tell me, why does this God love me so much?
On that note, here is the second song for today. It's called Intentional and it's such a powerful song. God gives us beauty for ashes and He can turn your life around. Beyond that, the life of a child of God is ordained by the Lord. Even when things don't make sense, hold on because God is in control!
In my very first blog post, I shared with you all how I’m creating my dream woman. That post resonated and has caused many of you to stick with me since then! Awwwwwww :)
April was the month when I posted the most number of posts, and now I wonder how I had so much time to write. Actually, I think that was when I began to write for myself, for my own therapy, for my own healing, and it worked wonders!
April also is the month that I’ve had the most blog views so far. I wrote about someone with whom I had attended secondary (high) school that was found dead in his dorm room. That post had a lot of views, and although I wish people clicked the posts about developing a relationship with God, I’m still very grateful. Haha.
In December, I blogged about the 60 students from my secondary school who died in a plane crash 10+ years ago. Till date, December 11 (the day after the memorial) is the day I’ve had the most views on the blog.
One post that had a lot of responses was the one about my little sister. I spoke with my sister a few hours ago and she asked me if I was frozen from the cold yet. Keeping with her mischief, I told her that the only part of my body that hadn’t been frozen was my head so that I could speak with her. She responded: “then don’t let your head freeze or else we’ll have to break it”. Imagine! Anyway, she’s my absolute fave person and that was all in good spirits.
Sometime this week, I’ll write about spending time with God and how I do my personal devotion time. Please keep an eye out for that.
That’s it for today friends. May God’s blessings overtake you every day this week! :)
